WHAT IS IT?
Forward Dallas 2.0 is a long-range future land use vision that guides how and where the city grows over the coming decades and describes how to achieve that vision.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Forward Dallas wants to effectively ELIMINATE single family zoning throughout the ENTIRE City of Dallas!

While Forward Dallas is not a zoning document, the structure types permitted as primary and secondary land uses will IN FACT inform zoning decisions and Development Code updates.

WHAT WILL CHANGE?
• The lot next to you could have Townhomes, Duplexes, Triplexes, apartment complexes and even commercial businesses on corner lots.
• ADUs (Accessory Dwelling Units) will be allowed “By Right” as a part of the implementation plan.
• Historic Districts, Conservation Districts, Neighborhood Stabilization Overlays and neighborhood Planned Development districts may have some level of protection, however, there is NOTHING to stop a developer from requesting a zoning change in any of these "protected" areas. East Dallas is an area in great demand due to downtown proximity and the Department of Planning and Development desires for more density throughout the city.

City Plan Commission voted to advance Forward Dallas 2.0 to Dallas City Council for adoption. Letters are needed ASAP to let your City Council know your concerns.
Please be sure to include your address and Council District in your letter.
