November 10th, 2008 at 1 PM
Dallas City Council Chambers
1500 Marilla, 6th floor
“NO” to the NATINSKY PROPOSAL - The Natinsky Proposal will Devastate Dallas’ Neighborhoods
“YES” to the DEVELOPER-NEIGHBORHOOD COMPROMISE - Unanimously supported by the City Council-appointed Advisory Committee and the City Plan Commission
This will build exciting walkable Urban neighborhoods
This will protect our existing neighborhoods
Why say “NO” to the NATINSKY PROPOSAL? The Natinsky Proposal will devastate Dallas’ neighborhoods:
- No Critical Mass
- No Residential Proximity slope required
- No ½-block Residential Transition Neighborhood required
- Can be located on scattered small sites throughout city
- Huge parking reductions not suitable for scattered sites
- City Council cannot control parking reductions
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
- E-MAIL the Dallas City Council
- Attend the November 10 Public hearing and bring friends, family and neighbors
I normally don't ask for personal comments to be added to these articles, but this is too important for me not to do so. It is imperative that we have a mass of people at this hearing and emails sent. They will not need to speak but just stand up when we ask for a showing of support for those who speak for the neighborhoods. Nothing impresses the council more than critical mass in the council chambers.
This is too important to ignore. If Mr. Natinsky's proposal is passed, it will destroy the last 5 years work that our neighborhood has spent on zoning, the Forward Dallas plan and other development issues. I do not understand his reasoning behind trying to sabotage a compromise that was worked out by the neighborhoods and the developers, it absolutely does not make any sense at all.
For those who haven't been working on these issues there is not enough time to go over every detail, but trust me what he is attempting is bad, very bad. For those who want to go over it we have 3 attachments posted on the website for your reading pleasure.
